View Norm DeWeaver Census Newsletter - Senate Indian Committee Hearing on 2020 Census

February 15, 2018

FRIENDS:

Attached is the latest issue of my occasional newsletter on American Indian and Alaska Native issues in Census Bureau operations and data.

The feature story discusses the Senate hearing on Indian Country and the 2020 Census held yesterday in Washington, DC.  Three tribal witnesses testified, and an active discussion with the Committee members followed.

Any tribe or Native organization can submit a written statement to the Committee on the subject of the hearing.  Such statements must be submitted within the next two weeks.  They can help to reinforce the requests of the tribal witnesses for the Congress to provide more resources to insure a full and accurate count of all Native people in 2020

Comments, questions and suggestions always welcome.  Feel free to distribute this information to anyone you think may be interested.

If you would like to suggest adding anyone to the distribution list for these newsletters, please let me know.  Or if you wish to be dropped from the list, please let me know that as well.
