Community colleges and technical education institutions are using multiple strategies to accelerate learning and encourage postsecondary completion. Those strategies include competency-based education (CBE), which allows students to learn at their own pace; open educational resources (OER), which save money and time; and online training, which offers flexibility for students. Attendees will also learn about other OERs for developmental education on SkillsCommons. In addition, Jobs for the Future will present the latest research on and approaches to delivering developmental education on a national level.
This webinar is part of a series showcasing strategies and resources developed by community colleges that are of broad interest to institutions engaged in career-focused education and training. Upcoming webinars will address affordable learning solutions, sustaining grant funded projects, and free resources for apprenticeship and work-based learning; previous topics (available as recordings) explore making industry experts into expert instructors to increase student success, and scaling career pathways in Wisconsin.
